Another Night, Another Year

Another night, another year of useless,
And nothing has been done to change the world,
To rid it of the greedy and the clueless,
The heartless who know nothing but the void.
No change has touched them; no one’s learnt a thing,
And we’ve left only songs of death to sing.

Another year, another night of frightened
With bombs exploding over-, underground,
With killers running ‘round in joy, delighted,
While we in chains of fear are tightly bound.
They target those who have nothing to say
And hurl the world deep into dark dismay.
