The Dragon’s Fire

On the path
To the battlefield
I was all alone,
And I walked
Accidentally
Into a dragon’s home.
This home — a cave —
Was luminous, lit by
His crimson flames.
I knew that running
Wouldn’t help — this creature
Was untamed.
On the path
To the battlefield
I once more returned.
Now, within my spirit
The dragon’s fire
Burned.

  1. I love dragons in poetry! They are such powerful magical creatures. I also like the idea that their magic can be given to someone.
