If our Great Revolution can inspire
A spark of courage in the race of men,
And if our previous fervor and desire
For freedom reappear and strengthen, then
Let us revolt. Humanity, imprisoned
By darkness since the very birth of time,
Is plagued by fear; it scarcely can envision
A world where Light is absolute, sublime.
Let our Great Revolution reawaken
A spark of courage in the human soul
So that our future will not be forsaken,
So Love and Light, victorious, make us whole.
So, this poem wrote itself, it seems. Inspired by today’s Daily Post prompt — darkness.
