About the Raconteur

The name’s Louise Farrell. Welcome!

Imagination rules the world.

Napoleon Bonaparte

You may disagree with that. In my humble opinion, the human race wouldn’t have gotten anywhere without the ability to dream, imagine and create — things which I try to do on a regular basis.

My creativity sometimes ratchets up to near-impossible heights, but since procrastination is a pretty strong opponent, more often than not, I tend to leave my larger works, especially in writing, unfinished.

I’m trying to correct that now though.

I am the master of my fate;
I am the captain of my soul.

Invictus W.E. Henley

Nobody knows what’s going to happen in a day, in an hour, in a second, and any scenario ranging from a mild surprise to sudden death is possible. I believe in God, I believe in fate, but I also feel that no matter what I am meant or not meant to do, it’s ultimately my choice whether I do it or not. I can choose not to believe in some things; I can choose to be either kind or mean; I can choose to quit studying PR and switch to creative writing; or I can tell everyone go to hell and enlist in the armed forces.

It’s the beauty of life and the striking dynamic of existence.

Forever is composed of nows.

Emily Dickenson

There was a period of time in my life when I thought and worried too much about trivial things, neglecting the most precious time I had — the present.

Now, having learned to enjoy the magnificence of things I see, feel and otherwise perceive, I can definitely say I feel a lot more happy.

I love both poetry and prose. Photography is my passion. When I have the time, I make songs, compose melodies, film shorts… and in these three things I am a complete amateur.

Although I tend to disappear in my fantasy worlds for pretty long periods of time, I’m very fond of reality — as well as the people in it. So I’m always open to communication and finding new friends.

      2. what s the fun if you have to be careful even in your dreams?! 😛
the point is to get lost inside there, break free from reality, thereby helping you get back in a much clearer frame of mind!

  1. Those were some good quotes. Here is another one:

“Not I, nor anyone else can travel that road for you.
You must travel it by yourself.
It is not far. It is within reach.
Perhaps you have been on it since you were born, and did not know.
Perhaps it is everywhere – on water and land.”

    –Walt Whitman
